To ensure a reduction in network losses and accurate readings of electricity consumption, CEDIS is continuing its initiative to relocate metering points and replace meters under the Advanced Metering Management (AMM) Project.<\/p>\n\n
CEDIS relocates around 1,500 metering points on average each year; in 2024, the figure was 1,614. The launch of Phase IV of the AMM project, worth \u20ac12 million, is currently under way. It will cover 25,000 metering points, further reducing losses and increasing system efficiency.<\/p>\n\n
To date, under the first three phases, a large number of metering points have been reconstructed and relocated, reducing total network losses from 19.19 per cent in 2011 to 10.51 per cent at the end of 2024, with meter readings completed for over 99 per cent of consumption.<\/p>\n\n
Under the Energy Law and the Metering Rules, customers are required to provide access to metering devices for reading, inspection, replacement, maintenance, relocation or disconnection of electricity supply. In the event that access is denied, the Law provides for fines of \u20ac2,000 to \u20ac10,000, while CEDIS has the legal right to relocate the metering point to ensure unimpeded access.<\/p>\n\n
Under the same rules, CEDIS is required to plan the relocation each year of all metering points that are inaccessible.<\/p>\n\n
Relocating metering points is also an operational necessity, as it contributes to better control of access to the distribution network, a reduction in technical and commercial losses, the installation of AMM meters that enable advanced metering, more accurate readings and increased revenue collection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
