The donation of \u20ac30,000 was made under a donation agreement signed in April this year between CEDIS and the Clinical Centre of Montenegro.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The donation agreement was signed by Vladimir Ivanovi\u0107, Director of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System, and Dr Aleksandar Radovi\u0107, Director of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, continuing the long-standing cooperation between the two institutions.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe donation to the Institute for Children&#8217;s Diseases of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro is yet another confirmation of CEDIS&#8217;s commitment to social responsibility and its strong partnership with the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, as well as with all healthcare institutions in Montenegro. We are particularly pleased that the funds have been allocated to the Institute for Children&#8217;s Diseases, given that this year&#8217;s focus of CEDIS&#8217;s corporate social responsibility activities is on supporting the youngest members of our community. Through investments of this kind, we aim to make a tangible contribution to strengthening the healthcare system and improving the conditions for treating children in Montenegro. We believe this equipment will significantly improve diagnostics, facilitate the work of medical staff and contribute to better healthcare for our children,\u201d said Ivanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ivanovi\u0107 said that his conversation with the doctors had given him insight into the importance of the Eclipse \u2013 25 equipment.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI had no doubt about the choice made by the people at the Clinical Centre. We realised that this equipment will make things easier both for the Centre&#8217;s staff and for parents and children who need to be examined. We will continue to support the Clinical Centre, including through some larger donations, with the health of us all in mind and, first and foremost, the health of children,\u201d added the CEDIS director.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Velibor Maji\u0107, Director of the Institute for Children&#8217;s Diseases, highlighted the importance of this donation.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe have finally received modern equipment for objectively diagnosing hearing impairment in children. It is something we have been in urgent need of for years. We had long been trying to acquire this equipment, but there were never sufficient funds. The tender was finally launched following CEDIS&#8217;s donation of \u20ac30,000. With the help of other donors, including the Army of Montenegro, Concord Invest from Podgorica, the Parliament of Montenegro and the Bikers of Good Will, the Clinical Centre covered the shortfall,\u201d said Dr Maji\u0107.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maji\u0107 noted that this equipment would facilitate the hearing assessment process for both medical staff and patients.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor some of the procedures performed using this equipment, patients had to be referred to regional centres. Examinations are now shorter and more reliable. This is a major benefit for all children with hearing problems and other balance disorders. Children are the future of every country, and this equipment and our specialists\u2014Dr Milena and Dr Danilo\u2014will contribute to their proper development and full integration into the education system,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Milena Pupovi\u0107, an otorhinolaryngologist and audiologist at the Institute for Children&#8217;s Diseases, provided further details on how the equipment will work and the benefits it will bring.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis equipment has significantly reduced the length of examinations because testing is now carried out exclusively while the child is naturally asleep or under general anaesthesia. Previously, it took us two and a half hours to determine children&#8217;s hearing thresholds; now we complete the test in about 45 minutes. We have a large number of children with hearing aids, for whom it is important to determine the hearing threshold at each frequency. This year, around 9,000 patients have attended the ENT outpatient clinic for urgent care, and another 9,000 scheduled patients have been seen, while around 900 children have attended the audiology clinic. Of these, almost 10 per cent require further assessment. This year, approximately 200 functional hearing assessments and some 900 audiometry tests have been performed, which is a large number,\u201d said Dr Pupovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This significant donation to the Clinical Centre is just one of the socially responsible activities through which CEDIS supports healthcare in Montenegro.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHealthcare is one of CEDIS&#8217;s primary areas of focus in its corporate social responsibility activities. More than \u20ac44,000 has been allocated to this area this year. In addition to the donation to the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, the company also donated \u20ac13,068 to the Vaso \u0106ukovi\u0107 Hospital in Risan to purchase an operating theatre light, creating the conditions for another operating theatre to be put into use.
