\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n CEDIS management held a meeting with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development \u2013 EBRD, where Vladimir Ivanovi\u0107<\/strong>, Executive Director of CEDIS, and Francesco Corbo<\/strong>, EBRD Director for Energy in the Western Balkans and Croatia, together with their associates, discussed the implementation of this major capital project for the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System, in connection with the announced support for the SCADA system project.<\/p>\n Representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as partners in this priority CEDIS project, expressed satisfaction with the progress made to date in implementing the project and with compliance with all activities agreed so far. The project, worth EUR 35 million, will be financed by an EBRD loan, the financing terms for which have been defined.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cSCADA is the kind of project we want to see in Montenegro and the region. We are working together to bring the project to financial close and begin implementation, to the satisfaction of both parties. The aim is to finance the replacement of CEDIS\u2019s distribution system control system with a more advanced one (SCADA\/ADMS), and to procure additional smart meters to cover new facilities and enable the replacement of old meters. Ultimately, it will have a significant impact on the efficiency of customer-focused activities, better management of network outages, reduction of network losses, and improvement of cybersecurity, among other benefits,\u201d said Francesco Corbo<\/strong>, EBRD Regional Director for Energy in the Western Balkans.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Implementation of the SCADA system is one of the components of the Smart Grid project nominated by CEDIS, which it intends to finance with support from and a loan provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Much has been accomplished during the preceding period.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cOver the past period, together with EBRD representatives, we have made significant efforts to finalise the tender documentation, as well as all other procedures that must be completed in order to meet the requirements for signing the loan agreement and publishing the tender through the EBRD platform as soon as possible. This will ultimately enable the implementation of one of the most important projects for CEDIS. The SCADA\/ADMS system will enable efficient management of the electricity network based on real-time information about network processes, including visualisation of network processes and the ability to respond promptly in order to avoid overloads, thereby reducing the number of outages and ensuring a safer, higher-quality electricity supply for customers. Complete transparency regarding activity on the network will also enable significant savings by further reducing the level of losses in the electricity distribution system,\u201d said Vladimir Ivanovi\u0107<\/strong>, Executive Director of CEDIS.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This project will further contribute to the development and stability of Montenegro\u2019s distribution system. Advanced electricity distribution network management systems are essential to the \u201cgreen transition\u201d, as they provide detailed information and enable the efficient management of energy flows from renewable sources.
