Due to heavy loads on the network caused by exceptionally high electricity consumption resulting from adverse weather conditions\u2014high temperatures accompanied by a \u201cred\u201d weather alert\u2014certain network problems have occurred in recent days.<\/p>\n
Electricity supply is currently stable in the coastal municipalities and in the north of Montenegro, while yesterday we experienced supply problems in parts of the municipalities of Tivat and Budva.<\/p>\n
A fault on the Markovi\u0107i\u2013Rozino cable caused problems with electricity supply to part of the Municipality of Budva. Since a significant part of the load is supplied from the Rozino transformer station area, and because of the increased load due to high temperatures, it was impossible to supply the entire load via an alternative source until the fault was repaired. Therefore, supply from alternative sources was switched between sections, with care taken to ensure that the same customers were not left without power for the entire period, until normal operating conditions were restored.<\/p>\n
At 16:28, the 35 kV Dubovica\u2013Rozino cable line was energised, supplying voltage to the 35\/10 kV \u201cRozino\u201d substation and enabling it to supply part of the load, to the extent permitted by the capacity of the 35 kV Budva\u2013Lazi\u2013Dubovica overhead line. This enabled three 10 kV feeders from the 35\/10 kV \u201cRozino\u201d substation to receive electricity. The remaining load of the \u201cRozino\u201d substation was gradually transferred via the 10 kV network to the \u201cLazi\u201d substation, while the load of the \u201cLazi\u201d substation was also transferred via the 10 kV network to the \u201cBe\u010di\u0107i\u201d substation.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the considerable efforts of our crews, who worked in extreme weather conditions, around 90% of Budva\u2019s load remained energised throughout, while supply to around 10% was curtailed. In this regard, we note that the 35\/10 kV \u201cLazi\u201d substation, with an installed capacity of 2 \u00d7 8 MVA, was at one point carrying a load of 17 MVA.<\/p>\n
In addition, due to network loading, part of a residential area in Tivat was without electricity yesterday. At around 09:15, the 35 kV Tivat 3 cable line tripped (one of the two connections between the 110\/35 kV \u201cTivat\u201d substation and the 35\/10 kV \u201cTivat\u201d substation). The 35 kV Tivat 1 cable line remained in operation, continuing to supply the load of the 35\/10 kV \u201cTivat\u201d substation and, through it, the load of the 35\/10 kV \u201cPorto Montenegro\u201d substation. At that time, the load on the 35 kV \u201cTivat\u201d 1 cable line was 263 A (15.77 MW), while the protection was set to 270 A. Given that a further increase in load was expected, we began implementing load reductions.<\/p>\n
Porto Montenegro was contacted and instructed to reduce its consumption, which at that time stood at 78.5 A (4.75 MW). By 10:09, they had reduced consumption to 3.8 MW, and by 10:15 to 3.2 MW.<\/p>\n
To protect the network from a total outage, we reduced the load on the 35\/10 kV \u201cTivat\u201d substation by disconnecting several 10 kV feeders. CEDIS crews from Region 5, supported by substation and 35\/x cable testing crews, succeeded in restoring electricity supply to the entire load in Tivat supplied from the 35\/10 kV \u201cTivat\u201d substation at around 14:45.<\/p>\n
Heavy network loading last night caused a problem on the cable supplying Stari Aerodrom and Konik. The work was completed this morning at around one o\u2019clock after midnight, and customers in Stari Aerodrom were supplied with electricity. However, the 10 kV Vrela cable has been out of service since last night, leaving part of Konik currently without electricity. Our crews are working intensively to restore normal supply.<\/p>\n
Working conditions are very difficult, but normal electricity supply to customers is expected to be restored soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
