We are confident that it is now clear to the public that the claims made in certain media outlets, backed by the political support of a DPS MP, are nothing more than a negative campaign against CEDIS, based on malicious interpretations and falsehoods about the company\u2019s activities. This conduct is initiated by circles accustomed to bidding on tenders alone and without competition, particularly when meters are concerned, as well as by political structures whose finances have been affected by a shortfall in \u201cdonations\u201d from such and similar \u201cbusiness dealings\u201d. This time, they have not limited themselves to the media, but are also acting through DPS MPs, above all Mr Rako\u010devi\u0107, who dutifully \u201ctweets\u201d on instructions from frustrated business circles. However, this is nothing unusual for those accustomed to following the orders of those who generously finance them.<\/p>\n
The article itself is entirely contradictory: it attempts to accuse the new management of \u201cfixing\u201d meter procurement in someone\u2019s favour, only to undermine these claims later in the article by pointing out that in 2022 CEDIS procured meters from as many as five different bidders. The point, therefore, is this: CEDIS has ensured maximum competition in meter procurement without jeopardising the process of connecting new customers to the distribution network. This was achieved through simplified procurement procedures, since the open procedures for meter procurement were not concluded because appeals were lodged against them, and for that reason they are now before the second-instance commission. The procedures will resume once the commission has ruled on the appeals.<\/p>\n
Neither the media outlet that persistently and at someone\u2019s behest focuses on CEDIS and meter procurement, nor this MP who attacks CEDIS at someone\u2019s behest, ever thought to concern themselves with CEDIS when meters were procured exclusively through procedures in which only one bidder\u2014always on standby for meter tenders\u2014submitted an offer. At the time, they did not even dare consider asking the Prosecutor\u2019s Office to review those procedures. Fortunately for the citizens of Montenegro, CEDIS is not on its knees and will not be. Even in these difficult and challenging times of an unprecedented energy crisis, it is managing to ensure a stable and uninterrupted electricity supply, as well as to meet all its obligations on time\u2014towards its employees, the state and third parties to whom it has obligations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
