<\/p>\nToday, Schneider Electric presented our engineers with its latest digitalized modular medium-voltage switchgear for distribution networks. This is the latest technology, combining air and vacuum, and offering a solution that contains no gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect.<\/p>\n
As was heard during the presentation, this is a major step forward for electricity distribution and environmental protection. The SM AirSeT switchgear uses a new technology based on purified air combined with vacuum circuit breakers, thereby eliminating global warming concerns. It also enables equipment condition monitoring using advanced sensor technology.<\/p>\n

Advanced technologies are already used in substations in Montenegro and the surrounding region, including SF6 gas-insulated switchgear. These are certainly highly innovative technological solutions, but they carry certain risks during handling and use, which can sometimes lead to environmental pollution.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is why, in its search for even better solutions, and bearing in mind environmental awareness and the constant goal of ensuring that the energy we distribute is as clean as possible, the company developed a model in which the gas is replaced with purified air that poses no threat to the environment under any circumstances. This type of switchgear is already widely used in China and Australia,\u201d representatives of Schneider Electric said.<\/p>\n

Following GIS software, software for meter management and remote reading, and MDM software for validating incoming data, a new software solution for overhead line maintenance was presented today. In general, overhead networks account for up to 70 per cent of the networks of electricity distribution companies, and the software presented includes a particularly interesting feature that could be applied to the type of terrain found in Montenegro. According to Schneider representatives, the software\u2019s purpose is to prevent faults.<\/p>\n
\u201cVegetation management is a specific component of Schneider\u2019s new software. It can be used for overhead lines and their corridors, which must be maintained and often pass through dense vegetation. These new technologies enable preventive action in parts of the network at risk, providing us with data on where problems may arise so that we can respond more efficiently in a timely manner,\u201d Schneider representatives explained.<\/p>\n

In an interactive discussion with representatives of Schneider Electric, our colleagues had the opportunity to learn about the practical applications of the new technologies through real-world examples and to get answers to all their questions concerning more efficient maintenance of overhead line corridors, as well as environmental protection through the pursuit of cleaner energy.<\/p>\n
