The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) plans to invest around \u20ac2.3 million in the electricity distribution system in the municipality of Cetinje this year, it was announced during today\u2019s meeting between Executive Director Zoran \u0110ukanovi\u0107 and the Mayor of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, Aleksandar Ka\u0161\u0107elan.<\/p>\n

\u0110ukanovi\u0107 and Ka\u0161\u0107elan agreed that CEDIS has been working for several years to modernise the distribution network and facilities in the Royal Capital, and that their cooperation has been constructive and professional, to the satisfaction of citizens and service users.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am pleased that we share the same priorities. For us, work to modernise the distribution network and facilities in rural areas is particularly important, in order to ensure a reliable electricity supply for existing users and create conditions for connecting new facilities, thereby enabling the development of rural areas, especially in agriculture and tourism, as more and more citizens are returning to the countryside,\u201d Ka\u0161\u0107elan said, adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe agreed that improving infrastructure is crucial to the overall development of both the city and the country. It is very important to us that a new substation will be built on the site of the former Upper Obod complex, so that we can also support the investor who plans to revitalise it, resume production and employ our fellow citizens,\u201d Ka\u0161\u0107elan said.<\/p>\n

He thanked \u0110ukanovi\u0107 for CEDIS\u2019s socially responsible business practices and understanding of the community\u2019s needs, as well as for its ongoing support for the projects of the Royal Capital of Cetinje.<\/p>\n

\u201cCetinje is an important undertaking for us at CEDIS. We have accomplished a great deal and invested millions through the electronic meter installation project, network revitalisation projects and individual investment projects. This year alone, we plan to invest around \u20ac2.3 million in the electricity distribution system in the municipality of Cetinje. And, of course, we will not stop there. With excellent cooperation with municipal representatives, we will continue to carefully plan and monitor the development needs of our Royal Capital,\u201d \u0110ukanovi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n

He said that CEDIS\u2019s achievements \u201cspeak\u201d for themselves, noting that the construction of electricity infrastructure signals positive economic trends and that, if global conditions do not have a negative impact, a period of gradual progress should follow.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, last year CEDIS launched works worth around \u20ac517,000 as part of a network revitalisation project in the municipality of Cetinje. Works on the \u201cVrela\u201d 10 kV overhead line and the \u201cBajramovica\u201d low-voltage network have been completed, while work on the \u201cCetinje\u201d and \u201cMeterizi\u201d 10 kV overhead lines is ongoing in line with the planned schedule. This year\u2019s planned works, in addition to completing the revitalisation of these two overhead lines, include the reconstruction of five 10\/0.4 kV substations, as well as the revitalisation of the \u201cLalino \u017edrijelo\u201d, \u201cDubova \u2013 Smokovci\u201d and \u201cDodo\u0161i\u201d low-voltage networks.<\/p>\n

The exceptionally costly and complex project to reconstruct the 35 kV overhead line from \u201cHumci \u2013 Rijeka Crnojevi\u0107a\u201d to Zagrablje is in its final phase, resolving a decades-old problem with the electricity supply to the water utility facilities in Podgor and Vi\u0161njica. The section to Zagrablje cost around \u20ac1.2 million, while around \u20ac360,000 has been allocated for construction of the section to the Cetinje\u2013Budva main road.<\/p>\n

Work is expected to begin in June on the reconstruction of the \u201cGlava Zete \u2013 \u010cevo\u201d 35 kV overhead line, worth around \u20ac350,000. Procurement is also underway for two transformers for the \u201cPodgor\u201d 35\/6 kV substation, at a cost of around \u20ac72,000.<\/p>\n

Construction of the \u201cDragomi Do\u201d 10 kV overhead line is also underway, as is reconstruction of the networks supplied by the \u201cPrekornica\u201d and \u201c\u010cevo\u201d 10\/0.4 kV substations. Around \u20ac410,000 has been allocated for these works.<\/p>\n

This year, CEDIS will also allocate around \u20ac283,000 for works on the medium-voltage network and facilities. This amount is earmarked for the construction of the \u201cVelji Bostur\u201d, \u201cLipovik\u201d and \u201cKo\u0161uta\u201d substations, as well as for the reconstruction of the \u201cBajova\u201d substation and the revitalisation of the low-voltage networks supplied by the \u201cMeterizi\u201d and \u201cKaru\u010d\u201d substations.<\/p>\n

Plans for the coming period include completion of the AMM project, in which, as is well known, more than \u20ac100 million has been invested to date. An additional \u20ac7.6 million has been allocated for Phase IV. A total of 8,489 new electronic meters have been installed in the municipality of Cetinje, bringing 78 per cent of the customer base into the remote meter-reading system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
