{"id":9169,"date":"2020-01-27T08:42:22","date_gmt":"2020-01-27T08:42:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cedis.me\/uncategorized\/consumption-23-per-cent-higher-than-in-november\/"},"modified":"2026-10-09T08:40:33","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T08:40:33","slug":"consumption-23-per-cent-higher-than-in-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cedis.me\/en\/latest-news\/consumption-23-per-cent-higher-than-in-november\/","title":{"rendered":"Consumption 23 per cent higher than in November"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In December, users of the electricity distribution system consumed a total of <strong>251,780,796 kWh of electricity<\/strong>, approximately 23 per cent more than in November.<\/p>\n<p>The largest amount of electricity, around 41 per cent, was distributed to users in the areas of Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Cetinje (Region 2).<\/p>\n<p>A total of <strong>375,179 metering points<\/strong> were read, or <strong>93 per cent<\/strong> of the total number (unread metering points are located in buildings that are not permanently occupied). The reading rate for metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 99 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>In December, the Maintenance Sector teams <strong>carried out 1,972 <\/strong><strong>field interventions.<\/strong> The value of work on the maintenance of electricity facilities amounted to around<strong> EUR 445,889 thousand.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In December, preparations began on the project documentation for the construction of a 10 kV switchgear facility worth around EUR 1 million at the 35\/10 kV \u201cCentar\u201d substation in Podgorica. Documentation is also being prepared for the construction of 11 facilities at medium- and low-voltage levels, with a total value of over EUR 600,000. The largest share of the funds (EUR 175,000) will be allocated to the construction and integration of the 10\/0.4 kV \u201cStaro pazari\u0161te\u201d transformer station in Nik\u0161i\u0107. During the previous month, work was completed on five projects at medium- and low-voltage levels, with a total value of over EUR 180,000.<\/p>\n<p>During December, <strong>790<\/strong> <strong>new users were connected<\/strong> to the distribution network.<\/p>\n<p>During the previous month, <strong>1,096 new electronic meters<\/strong><strong> were installed<\/strong> across Montenegro. The total number of metering points in Montenegro equipped with remotely managed electronic meters is around 321,000, covering approximately 79 per cent of consumption.<\/p>\n<p>CEDIS\u2019s core activities are the distribution of electricity and the construction and maintenance of distribution facilities and the network.
