First place in the National Competition \u201cENERGY IN THE WIRE\u201d for students of Montenegrin secondary schools in the field of electrical engineering, along with a cash prize of EUR 750, was won by the team from the \u201cVaso Aligrudi\u0107\u201d Secondary Electrical Engineering School in Podgorica.<\/p>\n

Three-member teams from six educational institutions offering courses in the field of electrical engineering competed in knowledge and skills (the Secondary Vocational School in Berane, the \u201cVaso Aligrudi\u0107\u201d Secondary Electrical Engineering School in Podgorica, the \u201cMladost\u201d Secondary Mixed School in Tivat, the Secondary Vocational School in Nik\u0161i\u0107, the Secondary Electrical and Economics School in Bijelo Polje and the Secondary Vocational School in Pljevlja).<\/p>\n

– Our teachers are fully committed to us, so when you work hard, results are bound to follow. We prepared, especially during the last 20 days, in cooperation with our teacher Vladimir Kitaljevi\u0107. This is an ideal opportunity for us to make new acquaintances and gain new work experience <\/em>\u00a0<\/em>\u2013 said Matija Bulatovi\u0107 <\/strong>\u00a0from the first-place team.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cVaso Aligrudi\u0107\u201d Secondary Electrical Engineering School in Podgorica<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Second place and a cash prize of EUR 600 went to the team from the Secondary Vocational School in Berane, while third place and EUR 450 were won by the team from the Secondary Vocational School in Nik\u0161i\u0107. The award for the best individual, worth EUR 250, went to Matija Bulatovi\u0107<\/strong>, while the award for the best school, along with a laptop, went to the \u201cVaso Aligrudi\u0107\u201d Secondary Electrical Engineering School in Podgorica. Prizes of EUR 250 were also provided for the mentors of the winning teams.<\/p>\n

– These competitions mean a lot to us because they allow us to see what we are capable of, as well as meet our peers from other cities \u2013<\/em> said Ilija Dobra\u0161inovi\u0107<\/strong>, a student at the Secondary Vocational School in Berane.<\/em><\/p>\n

The mentor of the second-place team from Berane, Nehrudin \u0160ahman<\/strong>, noted that participation and camaraderie matter more than placement, adding that this year\u2019s competition was at an even higher level than the previous one, which he welcomed, particularly for the students and vocational secondary education.<\/em><\/p>\n

The theoretical part of the competition tested knowledge of electrostatics, steady-state electric currents, alternating-current circuits and other relevant fields. The practical application section focused on electrical installations and lighting, specifically the selection of appropriate components for carrying out high-quality electrical installations.<\/p>\n

Secondary Vocational School in Nik\u0161i\u0107<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The contestants\u2019 knowledge and skills were assessed by a three-member expert jury comprising: MSc Vladan Durkovi\u0107<\/strong> of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica, Slobodan Kova\u010devi\u0107<\/strong>, Head of CEDIS\u2019s Local Network Management Centre, and Sandra Brkanovi\u0107<\/strong> of the Centre for Vocational Education.<\/p>\n

The \u201cENERGY IN THE WIRE\u201d competition is organised by the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System and the Association of Electrical Engineering Teachers of Montenegro (UPECG). The event was supported by the ministries of education and economy, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Centre for Vocational Education.<\/p>\n

– CEDIS is a company that values knowledge above all else. \u201cEnergy in the Wire\u201d has had the status of a national competition since this year, and the great interest among secondary school students further confirms that we are on the right track. By organising the competition, we want to connect educational institutions with the professions CEDIS needs to carry out its core activities. We would be pleased if one of you chose CEDIS as the place to start and develop your career <\/em>– said Marija Jovovi\u0107,<\/strong> Head of CEDIS\u2019s Corporate Communications Department.<\/p>\n

The competition was opened by Miodrag \u010canovi\u0107<\/strong>, Chair of the CEDIS Board of Directors, who noted that \u201cEnergy in the Wire\u201d was an excellent example of productive cooperation between the economy and the education sector, adding:<\/p>\n

– We must act responsibly towards the future and create opportunities for its prosperous development, which you yourselves will carry forward. You are the future of both our company and the continued development of the distribution system. Take every opportunity to receive training and build on your knowledge, which is your invaluable asset.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Education noted that CEDIS is a true partner that genuinely cares about making positive progress in education.<\/p>\n
