Since the start of Phase III of the \u201csmart\u201d meter installation project, around three thousand more customers have been connected to the remote consumption-reading system. As Phase III provides for the installation of 45 thousand new meters, it is reasonable to expect the project to be completed within the planned timeframe, i.e. by May 2019. During this period, around 15 thousand meters will be installed in the central region, 18 thousand in the coastal region and around 12 thousand in the northern region. This time, multifunctional metering devices are being installed mainly in suburban and densely populated rural areas of Montenegro where no installation work had previously been carried out. With the implementation of Phase III of the project, worth EUR 39 million, around 310 thousand consumers will be connected to the remote consumption-reading system, representing approximately 82 per cent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/admin.cedis.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CSC_0178.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3317 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/admin.cedis.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CSC_0178-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/admin.cedis.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/DSC_0068.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3318\" src=\"http:\/\/admin.cedis.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/DSC_0068-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Boris Cvetkovi\u0107<\/strong>, Head of the Metering Centre, says that nearly 10 thousand inspections of metering points have been completed to date across more than 100 transformer station areas, determining the appropriate type of work for each metering point and network. Work is currently being carried out in regions 2, 3 and 6. In addition to the reconstruction and relocation of metering points and the installation of new cabinets, low-voltage networks are also being reconstructed, bringing the associated network into a condition that can support modern technology for remote electricity consumption metering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause it involves the accompanying reconstruction of low-voltage networks and metering points, implementation of this strategic project is helping transform the electricity distribution network into a modern, more energy-efficient system, while also improving the quality and security of electricity supply. The project will also provide higher-quality consumption data, which is a prerequisite for the rational development and operation of electricity distribution networks,\u201d says <strong>Cvetkovi\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/admin.cedis.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Boris-Cvetkovic-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3320\" src=\"http:\/\/admin.cedis.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Boris-Cvetkovic-1-684x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"305\" height=\"457\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Boris Cvetkovi\u0107<\/em><\/p>\n<p>According to him, entire transformer station areas and metering points are being surveyed and geolocated in the Geographic Information System (GIS), so all spatial and technical data on the electricity distribution network will be consolidated in a single database. This will significantly facilitate planning, both investment and routine maintenance, and bring order to the use of the distribution system.<\/p>\n<p>The project, it should be recalled, was launched in December 2011, and since then more than 270 thousand meters have been installed, bringing over 70 per cent of electricity distribution system users into the remote-reading system.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/admin.cedis.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/DSC_0166.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3319 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/admin.cedis.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/DSC_0166-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"514\" height=\"342\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cvetkovi\u0107<\/strong> notes that an analysis of the effects of using this modern technology shows positive results across all parameters.
