October Consumption at Last Year’s Level

Customers of the electricity distribution system consumed a total of 198,906,801 kWh of electricity in October, around two per cent less than the amount consumed during the same period last year. The largest share of electricity, around 37 per cent, was distributed to customers in Podgorica, Danilovgrad, Tuzi and Cetinje (Region 2).

A total of 403,949 meters were read, or 94 per cent of the total number (unread metering points are located in buildings that are not permanently occupied). The meter-reading rate for metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 99 per cent.

In October, Maintenance Sector teams carried out 1,934 field interventions at the 10/0.4 kV level. The value of works on the maintenance of electricity infrastructure (10/0.4 kV) amounted to around €309,000.

In October, 849 new customers were connected to the distribution network.

Last month, the “Velje Brdo” 35/10 kV substation, worth more than one million euros, was commissioned. In addition, the reconstruction of the 10 kV switchgear at the “Centar” 35/10 kV substation in Podgorica was successfully completed in October, at a cost of around €1.3 million. Tender procedures worth €6.5 million were also launched for the construction of four facilities at the 35/10 kV voltage level (“Grbalj” and “Bigova” in Kotor, “Tri krsta” on the Tivat side of Luštica, and “Volođa” in Pljevlja). Work is also under way to reconstruct the 35 kV “Ribarevine–Šćepanica” overhead line in Bijelo Polje, with €220,000 allocated for the project. A number of projects were completed at the secondary level, including the construction of the “Petnjica” double-circuit 10 kV overhead line from the “Berane 3” 35/10 kV substation to the branch pole in Paljuh, worth around €110,000. The technical inspection has been completed and the use permit obtained for this project.

During October, 556 new electronic meters were installed across Montenegro. The total number of metering points in Montenegro equipped with remotely controlled electronic meters is around 339,000, covering approximately 80 per cent of the customer base.
