In May, users of the electricity distribution system took a total of 206,926,638 kWh of electricity, which is 10 per cent less than consumption in April and four per cent more than the amount of electricity taken during the same period of the previous year. The largest amount of electricity, around 35 per cent, was distributed to users in the areas of Podgorica, Danilovgrad, Tuzi and Cetinje (Region 2).
A total of 398,890 meters were read, or 94 per cent of the total number (the unread metering points are located in buildings that are not permanently occupied). The meter-reading rate at metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 99 per cent.
In May, the Maintenance Sector teams carried out 1,850 field interventions. The value of maintenance works on electricity facilities amounted to approximately EUR 168,000.
During May, 653 new users were connected to the distribution network.
During May, works worth EUR 220,000 were carried out on the primary network to reconstruct the 35 kV “Ribarevine – Šćepanica” power line in Bijelo Polje. In addition, during the previous month, works were completed on the secondary network to build two 10/0.4 kV substations, which will improve the electricity supply to parts of the service areas of Podgorica and Kotor. Approximately EUR 170,000 was allocated for these works (the “NOVA br. 6” substation, in accordance with the “Titex” DUP in Podgorica, and “Kavač 6” in Kotor). Work is also under way on four projects, with a total value of approximately EUR 250,000, in the municipalities of Podgorica, Budva, Kolašin and Kotor.
During the previous month, 20 new electronic meters were installed in Montenegro. The total number of metering points in Montenegro equipped with remotely controlled electronic meters is approximately 338,000, covering more than 80 per cent of the customer base.
