At today’s meeting of the CEDIS Board of Directors, the proposed amendments to the Rulebook on Internal Organisation and Job Classification were not considered, nor were the amendments to the Rulebook on Addressing Employees’ Housing Needs.
The Board of Directors concluded that, given the current circumstances of media and political pressure on CEDIS, all aimed at creating the impression among the public that the proposed amendments conceal abuses and unlawful acts, it would be best to postpone the activities already under way. We remind the public that the primary reason for amending the Rulebook on Organisation and Job Classification is the inadequacy of the previous act inherited by the current management, which, contrary to the provisions of the Labour Law, does not specify the number of employees. This is precisely why the amendments were initiated, first and foremost to bring the said act into line with the provisions of the Labour Law, then to improve the company’s business processes, and also to achieve a greater degree of efficiency and accessibility for end users.
In addition to the above, another reason for postponing the adoption of the rulebooks is the comments received from the company’s trade union organisations, which we will consider in the coming period.
Furthermore, two Board members were unable to attend today’s meeting for justified reasons.
The adoption of the proposed amendments to the Rulebook on Addressing Employees’ Housing Needs was postponed following consultations with the Ministry of Capital Investments, during which a solution was suggested whereby all employees would be placed on a single list. In the coming period, CEDIS will begin drafting a new act in line with the amendments suggested by the Ministry of Capital Investments. The deadline for adopting the amended Rulebook on Addressing Employees’ Housing Needs at CEDIS has been extended to 31 July of this year.
Finally, it should be emphasised that the Board and management have continued to operate and will continue their activities as before, complying with all regulations, regardless of the intensity of the pressure exerted by certain politicians through the media. The reason for this pressure is not the company’s improvement, but exclusively politically motivated changes to the management, which has achieved outstanding results under the current circumstances. We draw attention to the results, particularly in terms of savings and reducing losses in the system, and stress that, given the circumstances, the Board and management are proud of everything achieved over the past year.
