In February, users of the electricity distribution system consumed a total of 234,253,963 kWh of electricity, around 11 per cent less than in January and at the same level as consumption recorded during the same period last year.
The largest share of electricity, around 41 per cent, was distributed to users in the areas of Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Cetinje (Region 2).
A total of 376,571 meters were read, or 93 per cent of the total number (unread metering points are located in buildings that are not permanently occupied). The reading rate for metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 99 per cent.
In February, the Maintenance Sector teams carried out 2,171 field interventions. The value of maintenance works on power facilities amounted to around 367,831 thousand euros.
Last month, works worth 70 thousand euros to replace the low-voltage switchgear at the “Bim Slavija 1” substation in Budva were completed. Documentation is also being prepared for the construction of the 35 kV “Humci-Rijeka Crinojevića” overhead line, worth 126 thousand euros, as well as for the one-million-euro project to replace the 10 kV switchgear at the 35/10 kV “Centar” substation. In February, preparations were also underway for documentation for the construction of 18 facilities at medium- and low-voltage levels, with a total value of over 850 thousand euros. The largest amount—around 200 thousand euros—will be allocated for the construction and integration of two transformer stations (10/0.4 kV), “BR.5-PMPG” in Podgorica and “Dragovoljići 3” in Nikšić.
In February, 675 new users were connected to the distribution network. Last month, a total of 1,304 new electronic meters were installed across Montenegro. Around 323 thousand metering points in Montenegro are equipped with remotely managed electronic meters, covering around 79 per cent of the electricity consumption base.
