Financial Support for KK “Omladinac”

The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System will once again support Karate Club “Omladinac” from Podgorica this year with four thousand euros, the value of the Sponsorship Agreement concluded with the club today. By investing in this increasingly successful sport, we reaffirm our firmly established commitment to socially responsible business practices. “Omladinac” was named Podgorica’s best club in 2019, while its member and Montenegrin national team karateka Mario Hodžić was named Podgorica’s best athlete in the previous year in the traditional selection by the Capital City Secretariat for Culture and Sport, as well as Montenegro’s best athlete in the selection by the Montenegrin Olympic Committee.

“By winning five medals at the recently held European Championship, the karate athletes confirmed that karate is among Montenegro’s most successful sports, to which “Omladinac” makes a significant contribution. We are proud of our partner and honoured to be part of this successful team. CEDIS strategically plans and implements projects with broader social significance, and we are especially pleased when the results confirm that we made the right choice. One thing is certain—you can count on us!”, said Marija Jovović, Head of Corporate Communications at CEDIS.

In terms of results, the previous year is regarded as a historic one for Montenegrin karate, with Podgorica’s “Omladinac” occupying a leading position. The number of medals won in competitions ranging from local events to world-level championships, the growth in membership, and the club’s contribution to the standing this Olympic sport has achieved in Montenegro confirm the well-deserved assessment that this Podgorica club has restored the glory of Montenegrin karate.

Marina Raković, one of the brightest members of this golden karate family, noted that CEDIS’s support is extremely important because it enables athletes to prepare well, focus on their work and gain additional motivation, ultimately leading to successful performances at competitions.

“I hope that we will have even better cooperation in the future, and I am especially pleased that successful and profitable companies recognise “Omladinac” as a partner, because support from the community is definitely an additional boost,” Raković concluded.

Since its establishment, CEDIS has allocated significant funds to support Montenegrin sport. The value of sponsorship agreements concluded during the previous year alone amounted to around 100 thousand euros, with the Water Polo and Swimming Federation, the Handball Federation, the Shooting Federation and, of course, Karate Club “Omladinac” having established themselves as priority partners over the years.
