Work on integrating the 35/10 kV substation “Novi Ulcinj” is progressing according to plan. The installation of 4.2 km of 35 kV cable from the “Kodre” substation to the “Novi Ulcinj” substation has been completed, under exceptionally challenging conditions. In addition to poor weather and a prolonged rainy season, the works were further complicated by groundwater near the “Grad” substation, as well as the absence of a cadastre of existing utilities along the entire cable route. Installing this cable also required excavation of busy roads in the town centre, further complicating the work.
The installation of two 10 kV cables towards Mala Plaža is still to be completed, after which the project to integrate the “Novi Ulcinj” substation into the local electricity distribution system will be fully completed.
We assure the residents of Ulcinj that the areas where work has been carried out and which have not yet been restored will be returned to their original condition. We would like to point out that CEDIS is a responsible company and there is no reason to doubt that all work associated with the construction of this exceptionally important facility will be completed in accordance with the prescribed standards.
The activities to integrate the “Novi Ulcinj” substation via cable, as well as the restoration of previously excavated sections, will be completed before the start of the tourist season.
We therefore once again appeal to residents to be understanding and patient, as CEDIS is undertaking all necessary activities to complete this project as efficiently as possible. We also ask the residents of Ulcinj, despite the current problems that inevitably accompany the implementation of projects of this scale, to be our allies, especially in the final phase, as the construction of the “Novi Ulcinj” substation is extremely important for the tourist development of Ulcinj.
We remind you that the total value of the substation is approximately two million euros.
