Works to integrate the 35/10 kV “Novi Ulcinj” substation, as well as repairs to surfaces in the Pinješ settlement, are progressing as planned. Despite unfavourable weather conditions while the cable lines were being laid, the 35 kV cable line section from the “Kodre” substation to the turn-off for the “Grad” substation has been completed.
Please note that, in addition to the poor weather conditions, the necessary repair works on the main road to Sukobin were also a complicating factor, and we had to coordinate our activities with them.
Given the forecast of favourable weather, we expect work to continue without interruption on laying the remaining 300 metres of the 35 kV cable line to the “Grad” substation. This will complete the most demanding 4.2 km section from the “Kodre” substation to the “Novi Ulcinj” substation. At the same time, excavation work has begun towards Mala Plaža to lay two 10 kV cables. Once the work towards Mala Plaža is complete, the cable integration works for the “Novi Ulcinj” substation will be finished.
We assure the residents of Ulcinj that the damaged surfaces that have not yet been repaired due to adverse weather conditions will be restored to their original condition.
The cable integration works for the “Novi Ulcinj” substation, as well as the repair of the sections previously excavated, will be completed before the start of the tourist season.
We therefore once again appeal for your understanding and patience, as CEDIS is undertaking all necessary activities to complete the project as efficiently as possible. We also ask the residents of Ulcinj to stand with us, despite the challenges inherent in delivering projects of this scale, particularly during the final phase, as the construction of the “Novi Ulcinj” substation is of exceptional importance to Ulcinj’s tourism development.
We remind you that the 35/10 kV “Novi Ulcinj” substation, including the cost of constructing three 35 kV and seven 10 kV cable lines, is a project valued at approximately two million euros.
We also note that construction of this facility is expected to directly improve the quality of electricity supply for 3,073 customers in the areas of Pinješ, Nova Mahala, Metriz, Prisan, and Stari Grad, as well as at the Albatros, Mediteran and Holegro hotels. Supply is also expected to improve for 5,527 customers in the central urban area as a result of relieving the 35/10 kV “Grad” substation, which has operated under overload during peak season for many years.
