Over €500,000 spent on maintenance in September

Users of the electricity distribution system consumed a total of 187,486,727 kWh of electricity in September, 27 per cent less than in August and at the same level as in September last year.

The largest share of electricity, or almost 35 per cent, was distributed to users in the areas of Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Cetinje (Region 2).

A total of 346,838 metering points were read in the previous month, or 92 per cent of the total. Eight per cent of meters are still inaccessible for reading because they are located inside buildings that are not in use or are used only occasionally.

The reading rate for metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 99.1 per cent.

In September, the Maintenance Sector teams carried out 1,705 field interventions. The value of work on the maintenance of electricity facilities amounted to approximately €520,000.

In addition, work began in the middle of the previous month on the construction of the “Novi Ulcinj” 35/10 kV substation, with a total value of approximately €2 million, including the cost of constructing three 35 kV and seven 10 kV cable lines.

In the previous month, 400 power supply interruptions were announced across Montenegro due to planned network works. The average duration of interruptions was approximately three hours. We remind users that planned works are carried out to ensure a higher quality and more reliable electricity supply, and that users are informed daily about the timing of the works through the media, the internet and the Facebook page.

During September, 1,156 new electronic meters were installed across Montenegro. Approximately 260,000 metering points in Montenegro are equipped with remotely managed electronic meters, covering around 70 per cent of consumption.

In the previous month, 678 new users were connected to the distribution network.

CEDIS’s core activity is the distribution of electricity and the construction and maintenance of distribution facilities and the network. CEDIS distributes electricity to approximately 380,000 users across Montenegro.
