18 Percent Less Electricity Taken in February

Users of the electricity distribution system took a total of 234,616,083 kWh of electricity in February, around 3 percent less than in the same period last year and around 18 percent less than in January.

The largest amount of electricity, or almost 42 percent, was distributed to users in the areas of Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Cetinje (Region 2).

A total of 360,270 metering points were read last month, or 91 percent of the total number (unread metering points are located in buildings that are not permanently occupied). The reading rate for metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 99 percent.

In February, the Maintenance Sector teams carried out 1,988 field interventions. The value of maintenance work on electricity infrastructure facilities amounted to approximately 185,507 thousand euros.

During February, work was carried out on seven investment projects with a total value of approximately 970 thousand euros, with the largest amount allocated to investments in the secondary network in the municipality of Ulcinj. A 10/0.4 kV transformer station, “Voštar”, is being built in the Danilovgrad area, with 65 thousand euros allocated for it. The 10/0.4 kV “Tološi 7” transformer station is also being built in Podgorica, with a value of approximately 75 thousand euros. Technical inspections are under way for eight facilities with a total value of approximately 448 thousand euros, with the largest amount allocated to the 10/0.4 kV “Nova No. 1” transformer station in Ulcinjsko polje (75,000 euros). Last month, nine 10/0.4 kV transformer stations in the areas of Ulcinj, Bar and Budva were reconstructed.

486 new users were connected to the distribution network in February.

Last month, 2,422 new electronic meters were installed across Montenegro. The total number of metering points in Montenegro equipped with remotely controlled electronic meters is approximately 300 thousand, covering around 76 percent of consumption.
