A significant decline in consumption in coastal municipalities in July as well

Users of the electricity distribution system consumed a total of 206,610,660 kWh of electricity in July, which is approximately 16 per cent less than in the same period last year. In the municipalities of Region 4 (Budva, Bar and Ulcinj), electricity consumption fell by 39 per cent compared with the figures recorded in July last year. The largest share of electricity, around 41 per cent, was distributed to users in the areas of Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Cetinje (Region 2).

A total of 383,745 meters were read, or 94 per cent of the total number (unread metering points are located in buildings that are not permanently occupied). The meter-reading rate at metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 99 per cent.

In July, the Maintenance Sector teams carried out 1,759 field interventions. The value of maintenance work on electricity infrastructure amounted to EUR 270,128 thousand.

Twenty-four investment projects are in the preparatory phase at the secondary network level, with a planned value of around EUR 1.5 million, a significant portion of which (around EUR 710,000) will be allocated to the construction of 10/0.4 kV transformer substations in the Podgorica area. During the previous month, work was completed on the low-voltage network in the municipality of Rožaje, valued at around EUR 33,000. Work is under way to integrate the “Voljevac” 10/0.4 kV transformer substation in Rožaje into the network, as well as to reconstruct the low-voltage network in the village of Donja Lovnica in the municipality of Bijelo Polje; around EUR 105,000 has been allocated for this work.

491 new users were connected to the distribution network in July.

During the previous month, a total of 1,398 new electronic meters were installed across Montenegro. Around 329,000 metering points in Montenegro are equipped with remotely controlled electronic meters, covering approximately 80 per cent of the customer base.

CEDIS’s core activity is the distribution of electricity, and the construction and maintenance of distribution facilities and the network. CEDIS distributes electricity to around 408,000 users across Montenegro.
