Agreement on Cooperation Signed by the Ministry of Education, CEDIS and EPCG

Minister of Education Miomir Vojinović, PhD, today signed an Agreement on Cooperation at Villa “Gorica” with CEDIS Executive Director Vladimir Čađenović and Elektroprivreda Crne Gore Executive Director Nikola Rovčanin.

Through this partnership, the Agreement on Cooperation reflects a strategic commitment to the vocational education system. Its aim is to build a system that gives individuals the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills they need for employment and personal and professional development, while enabling education to respond more quickly and effectively to changing labour market requirements.

“This is a solemn occasion that marks another step in cooperation with two important stakeholders in our country. I am confident that the Ministry of Education, through its Centre for Vocational Education and your representatives, will work to train highly skilled personnel for the needs of Elektroprivreda and CEDIS. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Elektroprivreda for establishing training centres where our trainees will receive instruction,” Minister Vojinović said at the ceremony for the signing of the Agreement.

Vojinović noted that this is an important step towards the employment of our secondary-level vocational education graduates.

As the Minister added, experts from Elektroprivreda and CEDIS, the Centre for Vocational Education and school teachers will work together to develop modern programmes that support digital technologies, the green economy and sustainable development at the secondary vocational education level. This will be made possible by creating conditions for the development of retraining and further training programmes, specialist programmes and higher vocational education programmes.

According to CEDIS Executive Director Vladimir Čađenović, the signing of this Agreement is a welcome development, not only for the Ministry of Education but for society as a whole.

“This Agreement is important for all stakeholders. CEDIS immediately accepted it and made all its resources available to train young people who will go on to achieve outstanding results in energy companies, for the benefit of both the country and society as a whole,” Čađenović said, adding that only professional expertise, combined with responsible and honest personnel, can advance a country’s future.

EPCG Executive Director Nikola Rovčanin said that this signing opens a new chapter in adapting the education sector to reality and the energy transition towards renewable energy sources.

“You have seen what Europe and the world have faced recently. Our country has become a leader and driving force for the economy in terms of energy sector development. This all requires knowledge and skilled personnel, and it is vital that the education system and labour market are aligned in this regard,” Rovčanin said.

Practical training at school is also important in preparing students for work-based learning in a real working environment. Under the Agreement signed today, opportunities for cooperation include equipping school workshops and creating the conditions needed to ensure high-quality instruction at school, as well as using the training centres of Elektroprivreda and CEDIS to deliver practical training and establishing new joint training centres for students and adults at schools.
