The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System, in cooperation with the Institute for Education of Montenegro, which implements the International Eco-Schools Programme, has launched a call for applications for the environmental protection project “Energy Underlined in Green”. Educational institutions implementing the International Eco-Schools Programme—that is, institutions holding the international “Green Flag” award—as well as institutions that have applied to pilot the Eco-Schools Programme may participate.
As a responsible company, CEDIS strives to incorporate an environmental protection strategy—one of today’s greatest challenges—into its business planning process, so that managing environmental impacts becomes an integral part of our operations. On the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration on the Proclamation of Montenegro as an Ecological State, CEDIS wishes to support this commitment. To this end, the “Energy Underlined in Green” project is being implemented to raise awareness among students, teachers and the community about the importance of the environment. Through project implementation, educational institutions will enable students to take part in solving problems and contribute to improving the environment at a level where tangible results can be achieved.
Educational institutions may apply with only one project in any of the following areas: energy, environmental protection, biodiversity, school grounds, waste and climate change. The application deadline is 20 October 2021. CEDIS is providing €15,000 in funding for the project, and each educational institution may receive a maximum of €3,000 per project.
A commission comprising representatives of CEDIS, the Institute for Education, the NGO sector and the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism will select the best projects by 21 November 2021 at the latest, assessing innovation, project impact, proposal quality, approach and methodology, links to the curriculum, project promotion and sustainability. Projects may be implemented until the end of the 2021/2022 school year.
Educational institutions may submit their documentation electronically to pr@cedis.me or by post to: Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System, marked for the “Energy Underlined in Green” call for applications, 12 Ivana Milutinovića Street, 81000 Podgorica.
The partners in the “Energy Underlined in Green” project are the Association for Environmental Consulting in Montenegro (ECOM) and the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which implement the Eco-Schools Programme in Montenegro in cooperation with the Institute for Education.
CEDIS is recognised by the public as a socially responsible company that, through its activities, supports healthcare, culture, science, sport, social and child protection, as well as environmental protection and education.
