Call for Projects: “Energy Underlined in Green”

For the fourth consecutive year, the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System, in cooperation with the Institute for Education of Montenegro, which implements the International Eco-Schools Programme, is announcing a call for projects in the field of environmental protection, “Energy Underlined in Green”. Educational institutions implementing the International Eco-Schools Programme—that is, institutions holding the international Green Flag award—as well as institutions that have applied to pilot the Eco-Schools Programme may participate.

Through the “Energy Underlined in Green” project, CEDIS seeks to support Montenegro’s commitment to being an ecological state. We also aim to raise awareness among students, teachers and the community about the importance of the environment. Through various activities, CEDIS has directly incorporated an environmental protection strategy into its business planning process, as preserving the environment is vital to the life of our planet and everyone on it. By implementing projects, educational institutions will enable students to take part in addressing problems and contribute to improving the environment.

Educational institutions may apply with only one project in one of the following areas: energy, environmental protection, biodiversity, school grounds, waste, or climate change. The deadline for applications is 20 October 2024. CEDIS has allocated €15,000 to fund the project, and each educational institution may receive a maximum of €3,000 per project.

A committee comprising representatives of CEDIS, the Institute for Education, the NGO sector and the Ministry of Ecology will select the best projects by 21 November 2024 at the latest, assessing innovation, project impact, the quality of the proposal, the approach and methodology, links to the curriculum, project promotion and sustainability. Projects may be implemented until the end of the 2024/2025 school year.

Educational institutions may submit their documentation electronically to pr@cedis.me or by post to: Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System, marked “Energy Underlined in Green” project call, 12 Ivana Milutinovića Street, 81000 Podgorica.

The partners in the “Energy Underlined in Green” project are the Association for Environmental Consulting in Montenegro (EKOM) and the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which implement the Eco-Schools Programme in Montenegro together with the Institute for Education.
