Ultra-fast internet and digital television will be made available to a greater number of households in suburban and rural areas, under an agreement on the use of optical fibres signed by Crnogorski Telekom and the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS).
Thanks to this cooperation, Crnogorski Telekom will continue to expand its optical network more rapidly and, in line with the national digital agenda, provide access to the latest technology and services to an even greater number of users.
“Through its investments to date, Telekom has enabled the development of its network and the availability of high-quality services to a large number of households. By working with CEDIS, we will be able to offer the latest services even more quickly to users in suburban and rural areas. We thank CEDIS for its willingness to make its infrastructure available for the further development of the optical network, so that all citizens have equal opportunities to use telecommunications services. Through this partnership, we are fulfilling the objectives of the national digital agenda in the best possible way,” said Nikola Ljušev, Chief Executive Officer of Crnogorski Telekom.
“Given that access to high-speed internet has become imperative to everyday life, our partnership with Telekom will greatly contribute to improving the quality of life for Montenegrin households and businesses, further confirming our prominent position among companies that use their resources in a socially responsible manner. CEDIS plans to use optical resources for its own corporate needs as well, through the implementation of a SCADA system, an essential tool for efficient network management, the implementation of which is virtually inconceivable without substations connected by optical fibre,” said Zoran Đukanović, Chief Executive Officer of CEDIS.
