CEDIS Celebrates Five Years of Operation

The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) marked five successful years of independent operation with a ceremony at which awards were presented to employees.

Following its separation from Elektroprivreda Crne Gore on 30 June 2016, CEDIS continued the development and construction of the electricity distribution system, which began way back in 1910 in Cetinje, when the first public-purpose power plant began operating. This means that behind CEDIS’s “small” anniversary lie more than 100 years of tradition and experience.

Executive Director Vladimir Čađenović noted, addressing guests and employees, that it was a privilege, but also a great responsibility, to lead one of the largest and most successful companies in Montenegro.

“In the coming period, we will strive to maintain the continuity of the good results achieved so far, while also improving results wherever we identify room for progress. Our most important shared goals are, of course, achieving our plans, fostering a spirit of unity, and maintaining mutual respect and trust. By meeting these goals, we will show that we are equal to any challenge and that we care for our company and its future, which is entirely in our hands,” Čađenović said, adding that a higher level of investment implementation is expected in the coming period.

“The pace of investment projects depends to a great extent on cohesion among the company’s sectors and services, as well as on more intensive cooperation with the competent institutions, which is an area we will work on further. We will work even more decisively to reduce electricity losses, with a particular focus on reducing illegal consumption. The AMM project, which undoubtedly brings significant benefits to the distribution system, will be brought to completion in line with our legal obligations through the expanded Phase III. In the area of network management, one of the key tasks will be the implementation of a SCADA system for the remote monitoring and control of the distribution network. We have already taken concrete steps towards organising a tender for the implementation of the first phase of this project,” Čađenović noted, adding that CEDIS is to adopt new rules for the operation of the distribution system, as well as a Price List for the purchase of infrastructure for low-voltage connections, and to introduce updated procedures for connecting customer facilities and electricity infrastructure to the distribution system. Ambitious projects are also planned in the field of innovative technologies, primarily the preparation of infrastructure for expanding the network of electric vehicle charging stations and CEDIS’s greater involvement in the development of e-mobility in Montenegro.

Emphasising the importance of unity in successfully implementing the company’s business policy, Čađenović gave special thanks to the employees, whom he expects to devote their energy to the Company’s work, success and development.

“I expect us always to remain a united family that cares for CEDIS, because its future is entirely in our hands,” Čađenović concluded.

At the ceremony, awards were presented to employees who stood out for their commitment, skills, results and collegiality during the previous and current business years. The special “Energy in the Heart” awards went to: Sreten Vujisić, Sofka Drašković, Mersad Sijarić, Vanja Mišnjić, Tatjana Zečević Miranović, Balša Dobrović, Pavle Gazivoda and Katarina Kovačević.

The “Employee of the Year” award was presented to Ivona Vukčević, Administrative and Business Secretary, while the “Manager of the Year” award went to Gorjana Ćeranić, Head of the Regional Support and Connections Service in the Network Access Sector.

The award recipients thanked their colleagues for supporting them on the path to professional success, stressing that there can be no successful individual without a good company. These awards, which recognise collaborative, dedicated and responsible work, will provide further motivation to achieve future business results.

We would like to remind you that, to mark its fifth anniversary, CEDIS donated €13,600 to the General Hospital in Kotor for the purchase of a gas analyser, essential for providing appropriate medical care to patients diagnosed with coronavirus.
