To mark its anniversary – ten years of successful operations – the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) donated EUR 15,000 to a special service within the local self-government system, the Protection and Rescue Service.

This is the third consecutive year that CEDIS has marked its anniversary by allocating funds for a donation instead of organising a celebration, carefully selecting and making an appropriate choice when investing in the community in which it operates.
“We are all too aware of the difficult situation that befell us last year, when all of Montenegro was battling fires. At that time, the brave and fearless colleagues from the Protection and Rescue Service were on the front line. These men made superhuman efforts in the field, risking their lives to save others. Summer is just around the corner; there have been natural disasters, and society is powerless to contend with unpredictable nature. For this very reason, CEDIS has decided to donate to the Protection and Rescue Service this year. Wishing them a peaceful summer tourist season, I believe they will invest the donated funds in achieving their operational goals in the best possible way. Although our donation comes from the heart, it is modest compared with their courage and deeds. Thank you for everything you do for us!” said Vladimir Ivanović, Executive Director of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System.
The Mayor of Podgorica, Prof. Dr Saša Mujović, also expressed his gratitude for this valuable donation.
“I am proud of the work of our city’s Protection and Rescue Service, and I am equally proud that there are people in the Capital City and the state of Montenegro who understand the importance of social responsibility. CEDIS has put its values into practice and shown how it should be done. Instead of holding lavish celebrations for its anniversary, the company chose to donate those funds to people who truly need this assistance and support, which will help improve the quality of life of Podgorica’s citizens and enhance their safety.” said Prof. Dr Mujović.
He added that CEDIS is setting a fine example of how we should treat all institutions in Montenegro that are not profit-making, but provide services and whose employees make tremendous efforts for the benefit of us all.
The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System continuously contributes to improving the community through projects in various areas. This donation is just one in a series, and since the beginning of this year, CEDIS has allocated more than EUR 350,000 to projects through its corporate social responsibility programme.
