CEDIS DONATION WORTH EUR 10,000 TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MONTENEGRO

Today, at the premises of the University of Montenegro, CEDIS Acting Executive Director Vladimir Ivanović presented a cheque worth EUR 10,000 to the Rector of the University of Montenegro, Prof. Dr Vladimir Božović, to mark the jubilee of the University of Montenegro’s 50th anniversary.

With this generous donation, the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System has once again confirmed its commitment to the community in which it operates and contributed to the development of our country’s education system.

“The aim of CEDIS’s donation is to support the University of Montenegro in marking this important jubilee and contribute to the further development of education in the country. This is just one example of the socially responsible activities the company undertakes to support the community and education. As a socially responsible company, CEDIS is present in all areas of importance to Montenegrin society. We place particular value on educational institutions, where generations of professionals are nurtured under the guidance of teaching staff and become a driving force behind our country’s development. Through their intellectual and creative potential, students form the strategic foundation for the development of society; they are the bearers of knowledge, ideas and information, and they are our future. That is why CEDIS, as a socially responsible company, will continue to support Montenegro’s education system,” Ivanović stated.

Thanking CEDIS for the donation, Prof. Dr Vladimir Božović, Rector of the University of Montenegro, said that there was no need to emphasise the importance of the oldest and only state university for the development of our society.

“For decades, its alumni have developed Montenegrin businesses; it has educated generations of intellectuals and has been, and remains, a beacon of scientific and research thought in Montenegro,” Božović said.

He added that, in connection with this important jubilee, they had launched a series of activities to present the University’s half-century of work appropriately to the general public.

“Our main focus is on the central jubilee celebration—the Ceremonial Academy, which will be held later this month and will bring together the academic and business communities, state institutions, the diplomatic corps, as well as partners from the region and beyond. We expect more than four hundred guests, so CEDIS’s donation will greatly facilitate the organisation of this jubilee, which is important to us and the entire community. I am proud of our cooperation with CEDIS and believe it will continue and grow even stronger in the future,” Božović stated.

We would like to remind you that since its establishment, CEDIS has allocated significant funds to support the education system. In addition to today’s donation to the University of Montenegro, it provides strong support to numerous educational institutions throughout Montenegro.
