CEDIS MARKS SEVEN YEARS OF OPERATIONS

The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) marked the seventh anniversary of its independent operations last night with a ceremony at Vinopodrum Šipčanik.

As CEDIS Executive Director Vladimir Čađenović said, this anniversary is not much different from the previous one, as the circumstances surrounding operations in relation to the economic and energy crises have not changed significantly.

“The period between last year’s and this year’s anniversary was full of major business challenges for our company. Despite the numerous problems caused primarily by the negative effects of the global energy crisis, which has gone on for far too long, CEDIS has invested considerable effort, expertise and resources to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the system. In this regard, as a strategic company and an important link in our country’s power system, we have achieved good results in carrying out our core function as a distribution system operator – ensuring a reliable and high-quality electricity supply to users,” Executive Director Vladimir Čađenović said, among other things.

What particularly marked the past year was the commitment of all human and material resources to preparing for the summer and winter tourist seasons. We are proud to say that during this period there were no network failures, and every fault reported by end users was repaired in record time, Čađenović said. He added that the indicators show that we achieved historic results in very important areas of our operations, such as reducing losses, and were more than successful: our losses are at a record low, with the aim of reaching the loss levels approved by the Energy Regulatory Agency.

“And finally, I would like to say that, despite the obstacles, we will work hard to further improve our operations and enhance the quality of service for our users. We face increasingly demanding requirements that must be met within short deadlines, particularly in light of the growing number of active customers. It is important that everyone in CEDIS’s large chain, from field electricians to employees in support services, recognise the importance of their own link as well as those of others. We are ready to work together and rely on one another to achieve even better results,” Čađenović said.

CEDIS is recognised by the public as a socially responsible company which not only allocates significant funds to support the community in which it operates, but also strives to establish itself as a dependable pillar that can be relied on over the long term. Since its establishment, our Company has adopted corporate social responsibility as its gold standard. Last year alone, CEDIS contributed by implementing more than one hundred projects in education, sport, ecology, science, healthcare and culture. This work was recognised by the professional community, and at the end of last year the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System received the Employers’ Union of Montenegro’s award for corporate social responsibility in the “Care for the Community” category, for large enterprises.

This year, CEDIS’s Employee of the Year award went to Chief Project Management Engineer Marko Drobnjak, while the Manager of the Year award went to Nikola Živković, Head of the Region 2 Maintenance Service. In addition to the main awards, eight special “Energy in the Heart” awards were presented to Veselinka Vuković, Procurement Contract Implementation Monitoring Operator – Commercial Affairs Sector; Filip Vojinović, Public Relations Officer in the Corporate Communications Service; Savo Raičević, End User Relations Officer III – Regulatory Affairs and Customer Relations Sector; Savo Kažić, Network Access Technician in the Region 2 Network Access Service; Saša Maraš, Switching Operator II in the Region 2 Local Network Management Service; Miljan Nenadić, Chief Engineer in the Relay Protection Service within the 20 kV and 35 kV Maintenance Sector; Dimitrije Drašković, Property and Legal Affairs Specialist in the service of the same name; and Danilo Perović, Chief Metering Engineer in the Region 4 Metering Sector.

Employee of the Year Marko Drobnjak said that it was a great honour to be chosen as the best among so many talented and dedicated people at CEDIS last year.

“I would like to thank my superiors and colleagues for their excellent cooperation and support, without which this award would not have been possible. It is a privilege to work in such an environment,” Drobnjak said.

Nikola Živković also expressed his gratitude for the award recognising his many years of work.

“It is gratifying when dedicated work is crowned with an award, especially when it comes from colleagues. It also brings greater responsibility to continue doing better and striving harder. Thank you to my colleagues; this award belongs to them just as much as it does to me,” Živković said.

The other award recipients also thanked the colleagues who supported them on the path to this success, emphasising that there can be no outstanding individual without a strong team. These awards are the result of shared, dedicated and responsible work, and provide additional motivation for the work ahead.
