The Employers’ Union of Montenegro has presented awards for examples of good practice in corporate social responsibility for the fifth consecutive year, under the title “UPCG Award for CSR”. Awards are presented to small, medium-sized and large enterprises in the following categories: Care for Employees, Care for the Environment and Care for the Community.
The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System received an award for corporate social responsibility in the “Care for Employees” category for large enterprises. Magdalena Vukčević, Head of the Human Resources, General Affairs and Corporate Communications Sector, received the award from Srđa Keković, Secretary General of the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro.
Vukčević thanked the Employers’ Union, noting that behind the term “employer” is a team of skilled people who want to make things better and care about the company and making its employees happy.
“We want our employees to feel that their employer cares about them. This award therefore comes at just the right time, before the New Year, when we are all a little tired from numerous projects, and gives us the wings to continue in the same way next year,” said Vukčević.
For 2018, in the “Care for Employees” category, Bild Studio received the award in the small enterprise category. In the “Care for the Community” category for 2018, Domen, ZZI and Fabrika ideja were joint award recipients in the small enterprise category. In the “Care for the Community” category for medium-sized enterprises, the award went to Sava osiguranje, while in the large enterprise category it went to the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System.
For 2018, in the “Care for the Environment” category, Amplitudo received the award in the small enterprise category, while Coca-Cola HBC Montenegro and Montenomaks C&L shared the award in the medium-sized enterprise category.
The main award went to Telenor, while the recognition for efforts to incorporate the principles of corporate social responsibility into business operations went to the Pljevlja Coal Mine.
The public call for applications for the “UPCG Award for CSR” for 2018 was open from 25 September to 25 October, and all companies registered in Montenegro were eligible to apply.
