CEDIS TEAMS CARRIED OUT 2,024 FIELD INTERVENTIONS DURING MARCH

In March, electricity distribution system customers consumed a total of 231,189,899 kWh of electricity, around five per cent more than in the same period last year and slightly less than in February. The largest share of electricity, around 40 per cent, was distributed to customers in the areas of Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Cetinje (Region 2).

A total of 372,886 meters were read, or 92 per cent of the total (unread metering points are located in buildings that are not permanently occupied). The meter reading rate at metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 98.5 per cent.

In March, the Maintenance Sector teams carried out 2,024 field interventions. The value of works on the maintenance of electricity facilities amounted to around €282,170,000.

At the primary network level, work is under way to replace transformers, worth around €820,000, in the municipalities of Andrijevica, Mojkovac, Bijelo Polje, Pljevlja, Cetinje and Nikšić. Tender procedures are also under way to select the most advantageous bids for the construction and integration of the 35/10 kV “Duklo” substation and the construction of a 10 kV switchgear at the 110/10 kV “Kličevo” substation. The value of these projects, which will raise the quality of electricity supply in Nikšić to a higher level, is around €2.6 million. Work has also been completed on seven secondary network projects, worth around €325,000. In March, work began on nine medium-voltage projects, with a total value of around €970,000, of which the largest allocation was for the construction of the underground 10 kV line “TS 35/10 kV Velika plaža 2 – Sv. Nikola” in Ulcinj (around €277,000).

During March, 432 new customers were connected to the distribution network.

Last month, 1,099 new electronic meters were installed across Montenegro. The total number of metering points in Montenegro equipped with remotely controlled electronic meters is around 324,000, covering approximately 80 per cent of consumption.

CEDIS’s core activity is the distribution of electricity and the construction and maintenance of distribution facilities and the network. CEDIS distributes electricity to around 406,000 customers across Montenegro.
