CEDIS Executive Director Vladimir Čađenović and representatives of the Mihajlo Pupin Institute – Automatika from Belgrade met on Friday to define the next steps towards fulfilling the contractual obligations for consultancy services for the implementation of the SCADA project.
The contract for consultancy services with “IMP – Automatika” was signed in October 2018, and the first phase of the contract has now been fully completed: an analysis of the existing situation and resources, together with the development of a system concept and investment plan. Concrete steps were agreed with “IMP – Automatika” regarding the organisation and management of the tender procedure to select the most favourable bidder for the implementation of the SCADA system, given that the procedure launched at the end of 2019 was not successfully completed.
The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System plans to implement two significant projects involving the application of state-of-the-art solutions for remote network control. These are the implementation of a SCADA system for remote control of the 35 kV and 10 kV networks, and software for analysing and monitoring outages in the distribution system (ISSCEDIS). The SCADA system enables the remote monitoring and control of distribution system components, bringing together all system information in one place in real time and allowing any system component anywhere in Montenegro to be switched on or off remotely. The use of this technology will significantly reduce interruptions in supply in the event of network disturbances, improve the quality of electricity supply and substantially enhance interaction with customers.
