Construction of the “Velje Brdo” Substation Completed

Construction of the 35/10 kV “Velje Brdo” substation, valued at one million and 16 thousand euros , has been successfully completed. A new substation building has been constructed, 35 kV and 10 kV air-insulated switchgear and transformers (35/10 kV, 2 x 2.5 MVA) have been installed, and the substation has been integrated into the 35 kV network. Construction of the building was carried out by “Eminent” d.o.o. Podgorica, with subcontractors “Eurozox” and “GEOTIN MNE”.

At CEDIS, we expect the technical inspection procedure to commence, after which it will be possible to determine more precisely when the facility will be energised.

The construction of the “Velje Brdo” substation has created the conditions for improving the quality of electricity supply for around 1,300 customers in the areas of Rogami, Velje Brdo, Vranjske Njive, Miletine Njive, Drezga, Radeća and part of Zagorič … Improved supply can also be expected by around 300 customers in the areas of Stara Zlatica, Smokovac and Doljani.

The new substation is particularly important for the infrastructure, given the multi-year trend of increasing numbers of customers connected to the electricity distribution network in these areas. It also creates opportunities to develop the 10 kV network and connect new individual and residential-commercial buildings.

This facility will also resolve the problem of overloading on the long and unreliable “Danilovgrad” and “Vojni logor” power lines, while establishing a new supply point is also a prerequisite for relieving the existing 35/10 kV “GORICA-B” substation.

On the primary network, CEDIS is also implementing projects to build the 35/10 kV “Duklo” substation and reconstruct the 10 kV switchgear at the “Centar” 35/10 kV substation in Podgorica. Approximately 3.3 million euros has been allocated for these projects.
