Users of the electricity distribution system took a total of 276.801.915 kWh of electricity in January, matching the consumption recorded in December and remaining at the same level as the energy taken during January of the previous year. The largest share of electricity, around 39 per cent, was distributed to users in the areas of Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Cetinje (Region 2).
A total of 404.196 meters were read, or 93 per cent of the total (unread metering points are located in buildings that are not permanently occupied). The reading rate at metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 99 per cent.
In January, the Maintenance Sector teams carried out 1.831 field interventions. The value of works to maintain electricity facilities amounted to around 198 thousand euros.
During January, work was completed on the construction and reconstruction of eight 10/0.4 kV substations in Kotor, Bar, Budva and Podgorica, at a cost of around 240 thousand euros. Work is also under way to relocate electricity infrastructure in the area where part of the Podgorica–Tuzi road is being reconstructed (from Josip Broz Boulevard to the boundary of the “Konik Stari Aerodrom” Detailed Urban Plan), at a cost of around 190 thousand euros.
A total of 286 new users were connected to the distribution network in January.
Last month, 27 new electronic meters were installed in Montenegro. Around 340 thousand metering points in Montenegro are now equipped with remotely controlled electronic meters, covering around 80 per cent of the customer base.
