Users of the electricity distribution system drew a total of 264,493,600 kWh of electricity in January, around five per cent more than in December and seven per cent less than the consumption recorded in the same period last year.
The largest share of electricity, around 41 per cent, was distributed to users in the areas of Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Cetinje (Region 2).
A total of 375,800 meters were read, or 93 per cent of the total number (unread metering points are located in buildings that are not permanently occupied). The meter reading rate at metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 99 per cent.
In January, the Maintenance Sector teams carried out 1,349 field interventions. The value of maintenance work on electricity infrastructure facilities amounted to around €23.456 thousand.
Work on the construction of four facilities, valued at around €110 thousand, was completed in January. Work is also under way on 17 investment projects in the municipalities of Herceg Novi, Kotor and Tivat, for which around €190 thousand has been allocated. Preparations are also under way for the construction of 14 facilities at medium- and low-voltage levels, with a total value of more than €900 thousand. The largest allocation—€240 thousand—will go towards the construction and integration of two 10/0.4 kV transformer stations, “Rafailovići 1 – Nova” in Budva and “Dragovoljići 3” in Nikšić. We also note that a contract worth €1,016,000 for construction work on the 35/10 kV “Velje brdo” transformer station was recently concluded.
A total of 679 new users were connected to the distribution network in January.
Last month, 865 new electronic meters were installed across Montenegro. Around 322,000 metering points in Montenegro are now equipped with remotely managed electronic meters, covering around 79 per cent of the customer base.
