In August, users of the electricity distribution system consumed a total of 211,070,466 kWh of electricity, around 20 per cent less than in the same period last year. In the municipalities of Region 4 (Budva, Bar and Ulcinj), electricity consumption fell by around 40 per cent compared with the figures recorded in August last year. The largest share of electricity, around 40 per cent, was distributed to users in the areas of Podgorica, Danilovgrad and Cetinje (Region 2).
A total of 384,601 meters were read, or 94 per cent of the total (unread metering points are located in buildings that are not permanently occupied). The meter-reading rate at metering points equipped with new electronic meters is 99 per cent.
In August, the Maintenance Sector crews carried out 1,847 field interventions. The value of maintenance work on electricity infrastructure amounted to 255,753 thousand euros.
Four investment projects are in the preparatory phase at the secondary network level, with a planned value of around 350 thousand euros. Work is under way on the “Eurozox” 10/0.4 kV transformer substation in Danilovgrad and on the construction of the “Bušnje 2” 10/0.4 kV pole-mounted transformer substation in Pljevlja, as well as on the construction of the “Petnjica” 10 kV double-circuit overhead line in Berane. Around 150 thousand euros have been allocated for these investment works.
In August, 345 new users were connected to the distribution network.
Last month, 969 new electronic meters were installed in Montenegro. The total number of metering points in Montenegro equipped with remotely controlled electronic meters is around 330,000, covering approximately 80 per cent of the customer base.
