Miodrag Čanović Re-elected as Chair of the CEDIS Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System today elected Miodrag Čanović as its chair at its constitutive meeting.

Čanović graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro in 1977, when he began his career at the Nikšić Steelworks. From 2004 to 2018, he served as Assistant Minister for Energy at the ministry responsible for energy affairs. He also worked on and actively contributed to the implementation of several significant energy projects. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore from June 2008, and was first elected Chair of the CEDIS Board of Directors in June 2016.

In addition to Čanović, the members of the fifth composition of the CEDIS Board of Directors are Zoran Đukanović, Ivan Mitrović, Emil Đokić and Marko Radulović. Radulović has been elected to the Board of Directors for the first time.

Radulović graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro in 2001. He began his career at Mezon in Danilovgrad, where he was appointed Technical Director in 2008. Since 2017, he has served as Director General of the Directorate for Energy Efficiency at the Ministry of Economy. Radulović has also actively participated in significant energy projects.

In June 2016, CEDIS was separated from Elektroprivreda Crne Gore and has since operated as an independent legal entity licensed to perform the functions of a distribution system operator. CEDIS’s core activities are the distribution of electricity and the construction and maintenance of distribution facilities and the network. CEDIS distributes electricity to more than 400,000 customers throughout Montenegro.
