At its first constitutive meeting on 28 June, the Board of Directors of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System LLC Podgorica (CEDIS) re-elected Miodrag Čanović as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.
In addition to Čanović, the new composition of the Board of Directors of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System includes Zoran Đukanović, Dragan Laketić, Ivan Mitrović and Emil Đokić.
Čanović graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Montenegro in 1977, the year he began his professional career at the Nikšić Ironworks. He served as Assistant Minister for Energy at the ministry responsible for energy affairs from 2004 to 2018. He also worked on and actively contributed to the implementation of several significant energy projects. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore from June 2008, and was first elected Chairman of the CEDIS Board of Directors in June 2016.
As is well known, CEDIS was separated from Elektroprivreda Crne Gore in June 2016 and has since operated as an independent legal entity licensed to operate the distribution system. CEDIS’s core activities are the distribution of electricity and the construction and maintenance of distribution facilities and the network. CEDIS distributes electricity to more than 390,000 customers across Montenegro.
