Electricity consumption at the distribution level has reached absolute record highs in Montenegro in recent days. The energy taken by the distribution network over the past ten days amounted to 95.17 GWh, which is 21 per cent more than during the same period last year. The highest daily consumption was recorded on 10 January, at 11.3 GWh, which is 53 per cent higher than on the same day of the previous year.
Low temperatures and record electricity consumption are putting the system at risk, and it has been operating under heavy load in recent days.
CEDIS calls for the rational use of electricity in the coming days to keep the electricity distribution system stable and avoid power supply interruptions caused by network overload.
