Protest at the Wrong Address

Regarding the protest organised today in front of the CEDIS administrative building, we reiterate that the Company has acted in accordance with the law from the outset, with an unequivocal intention to connect the “King Nikola Summer Residence” to the network as soon as possible. The reasons for not connecting it have been communicated to the public several times, so it is unclear to us why CEDIS is being targeted in this case, given that the key to resolving this unfortunate situation does not lie at our address. CEDIS received a statement from the Municipality of Nikšić only yesterday, which created the conditions for further action in this case. This was followed by our urgent response, so that we could accelerate as much as possible the activities within our remit. Therefore, while fully understanding the inconvenience caused to users of the Summer Residence by the lack of electricity supply, we ask that tensions be eased and that a rational approach be taken, as we have done everything to expedite the process. Accordingly, accusations of discrimination and a lack of efficiency and a tolerant approach on our part are unfounded.

By way of reminder, CEDIS received a response yesterday stating that the Municipality of Nikšić would sign the Contract for Temporary Connection to the Electricity Distribution System and the Supply Contract (for the “King Nikola Summer Residence”). In order to resolve the issue as soon as possible, CEDIS today sent all the necessary documentation to the Municipality of Nikšić, after which the timetable depends on the other entities involved in the process in accordance with the regulations (EPCG, Municipality of Nikšić).

The problem arose when the facility in question was disconnected from the network (19 November 2021), because the user was not registered in the CEDIS database. Consequently, in accordance with the regulations, it is necessary to conclude with the user a contract for temporary connection to the electricity distribution system, as well as a supply contract. Since the “King Nikola Summer Residence” is owned by the Municipality of Nikšić, we sent a request by email (30 December 2021) to the President of the Municipality of Nikšić, asking them to clarify which entity would be registered in the database (the owner or the user of the facility in question) and, consequently, named as the contracting party in the temporary connection contract. A response was received yesterday.

We reiterate yet again that, as the sequence of events confirms, CEDIS acted fully in accordance with the applicable regulations in this case and, within the limits of its remit, worked to resolve the problem as urgently as possible.
