Response regarding the statement by the Democratic Party of Socialists: “CEDIS is making losses because you gave jobs to your relatives there; two days ago, in the middle of a crisis, Vesna Bratić’s sister was also employed”:

Just when we thought that, over the past few days, our former coalition partners had replaced DPS in targeting CEDIS, DPS—probably under pressure after numerous manipulations from the period of their “management” were exposed—decided to join the movement of manipulators, with the aim of damaging CEDIS’s image. Much to their dismay, we can now freely say that CEDIS did not end 2021 in the red, despite unprecedentedly difficult circumstances caused by the international rise in energy prices, as well as numerous obstructions by those who regularly inform DPS about everything happening at CEDIS. “They”, whom this party is so concerned about and who supposedly “suffered due to retribution”, were largely responsible for the many problems and financial losses evident in 2021. Fortunately, these were successfully overcome thanks to timely intervention by the Government and EPCG. In other words, it was precisely “they” who failed to purchase electricity in November 2020 to cover system losses for 2021, as had been customary in previous years, thereby causing significant financial damage to the company. But even that was not enough: in April 2021, they proposed to the new Board of Directors that the company purchase electricity only for the following month and continue to buy it on a monthly basis, because of market disruptions that were already evident at the time. So much for their expertise and good intentions.

The most tragic thing about DPS’s statement is that they of all people dare to criticise anyone over party-political hiring, despite having been unsurpassed experts in that field, including at CEDIS. The statement confirms that they still cannot break free of their old habits—namely, keeping illegal records of political affiliation at state-owned companies, and everywhere else they deemed necessary for their dirty election machinery. We understand DPS’s frustration: they can no longer manipulate the figure of €10 million in losses and use it for party-political marketing. They are also unsettled by the realisation that they will never again manage CEDIS, hire on a party basis, rig tenders and siphon off money in this way to fund their dirty business. Those are indeed serious losses, but not for CEDIS—for DPS. We invite them to continue monitoring CEDIS’s operations in detail, because, according to estimates, 2022 will be a successful business year, despite numerous problems at the global level resulting from price increases—not only in energy commodities, but also in electrical materials and equipment essential to the system’s operation. While they keep watch, we have a year ahead in which multi-million-euro investments will be launched, and in which we will continue to address the problems of our customers and the citizens of Montenegro, who are the best witnesses to our dedication and efficiency.
