Regarding information published today in some media that a fire at Mr Rustem Tuso’s property in Šušanj was caused by damage to a distribution overhead line, we inform the public as follows:
The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) refutes the information that the fire at Mr Rustem Tuso’s property in Šušanj was caused by a fault in our infrastructure. There was no broken conductor on the 35 kV “Bar–Sutomore” overhead line, whose route passes near the property in question; the line is in technically sound condition, and there is no damage to the equipment or conductors. All conductors are properly tensioned (none are broken), and according to the latest information available to us, the property in question has not been damaged. Furthermore, Rustem Tuso’s house did not burn in the fire and was not damaged at all.
There have been no unplanned power supply interruptions in the Municipality of Bar today or during the previous day. We also note that the network in the Šušanj area remains at risk from fire, and that all necessary measures are being taken to prevent damage to distribution facilities and the network.
We therefore urge caution when determining the cause of a fire through media reports, as in the current circumstances a company is being blamed whose crews are constantly on standby and in the field, ready to act promptly, and which has taken part in extinguishing some fires and is available to provide all forms of assistance. CEDIS also switches off overhead lines that may be at risk from fires, and regularly informs the public about this.
Once again, we ask for cooperation and understanding, and emphasise that CEDIS is taking all necessary measures under the current circumstances to ensure that our customers receive a regular and safe power supply.
