Signing of the Sponsorship Agreement between RSCG and CEDIS

The Handball Federation of Montenegro (RSCG) and the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) have signed a sponsorship agreement. The agreement was signed by RSCG President Petar Kapisoda and CEDIS Executive Director Zoran Đukanović. The signing ceremony took place at the premises of the Handball Federation of Montenegro, where RSCG President Petar Kapisoda also presented Mr Đukanović with a Montenegro national team jersey. Representatives of the contracting parties expressed their expectation that the cooperation would be mutually beneficial and contribute to strong results, primarily for the national teams on the international stage, as well as to the development of handball in all centres across our country.

Kapisoda expressed his satisfaction that CEDIS is the first company with which the Handball Federation of Montenegro has signed a sponsorship agreement during the term of office of the new management of the “Montenegrin home of handball.”

“First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) for recognising our federation as a partner with whom it can achieve its business objectives and, I believe, present itself in the right way both within our country and beyond its borders. Through this agreement, CEDIS has shown that it is a socially responsible company which, by investing in sport, wants to contribute to better results, first and foremost for the national teams, as well as to the development of handball in all centres across Montenegro. The support of our partners is extremely important in helping us achieve the many goals we have set for this year. I emphasise this because competition in European handball is growing stronger every day, and despite the potential our female and male handball players undoubtedly have, ensuring the best possible conditions for their work is a prerequisite for Montenegro to maintain a strong position on the international stage. I would remind you that our primary goals this year concern the senior men’s and women’s national teams, which we want to see compete at the European and World Championships, respectively. In addition, our younger national teams will take part in major competitions throughout the year, making this a challenging year and creating an additional obligation to achieve the best possible results and represent our country in the right way across Europe and the world. This support will certainly be invaluable in achieving these goals, and I believe that our cooperation will be mutually beneficial and that other socially responsible companies will follow CEDIS’s example, all for the benefit of Montenegrin handball, one of our country’s leading sporting brands on the international stage,” said Kapisoda.

Đukanović stressed that CEDIS views the development of sport as part of the overall development of the state and society, because, in addition to competition, sport has important educational, health, cultural, social and other dimensions.

“As a socially responsible company, we carefully choose who we invest in. Handball has a long tradition in Montenegro, dating back to the time of the former SFRY, and is returning to the big stage, as demonstrated by the upcoming competitions for our teams and the number of female and male players in the younger age groups. In addition, there are the results achieved by our national and club teams to date, among which the medals won in 2012 stand out in particular, when we proudly and joyfully celebrated our Lionesses, who won silver at the Olympic Games and gold at the European Championship. We also remember our men’s victory over mighty Germany, Sweden and other “powerhouses” in the world of handball. All these achievements have helped establish handball as a Montenegrin brand. That is why we at CEDIS decided to provide financial support to the Handball Federation. We are confident that everyone involved will give their utmost to develop playing talent, which is a prerequisite for achieving outstanding results, and that the handball firmament will soon see successors to Bojana Petrović, Milena Raičević, Maja Bulatović and the Sekulić sisters, as well as to Petar Kapisoda, Veselin Vujović and other celebrated Montenegrin handball players. The CEDIS team is always behind the best, and that is why I know we will all celebrate together the future successes of our female and male handball players at international competitions,” said Đukanović.
