The “ENERGY IN THE WIRE” Competition Is Coming Soon

The Association of Electrical Engineering Teachers of Montenegro (UNECG), together with the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS), is organising the third “ENERGY IN THE WIRE” competition for students of Montenegrin secondary vocational schools in the field of electrical engineering. The competition will be held on 15 December at the CEDIS Training Centre in Podgorica.

Please note that the competition will take place on the above-mentioned date unless the new epidemiological measures announced for 1 December prevent it. Otherwise, it will be held at the beginning of the second semester or later during the second semester, when the measures allow.

Students in the second and third grades of schools offering electrical engineering programmes will take part in the competition. Secondary vocational schools from Tivat, Nikšić, Berane, Pljevlja, Rožaje, Bijelo Polje and Podgorica have been invited.

-“Energy in the Wire” is becoming a traditional competition at which our secondary school students have the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have acquired in electrical engineering through theoretical and practical work. The past two competitions have shown that we have launched a project that is important for educational institutions, students and CEDIS alike. More specifically, among other things, we want to connect educational institutions where students acquire the knowledge and skills needed for occupations that CEDIS requires to carry out its core business. Since the competition will again be held at our Training Centre this year, students will also have the opportunity to learn first-hand about our core business.

Schools may register one team of three members by 6 December. Valuable cash prizes have also been provided for the winning teams.

-The team winning first place will receive a prize of 750 euros, second place 600 euros and third place 450 euros. A prize has also been provided for the mentors of the winning teams, as well as for the best school: a laptop. We will also award a special prize of 250 euros to the best individual participant. CEDIS and UNECG will appoint a jury to assess the theoretical and practical components of the work and select the best school. The purpose of organising the competition is to promote the electrical engineering profession and highlight the importance of secondary vocational education.
