CEDIS and the Chess Federation of Montenegro Continue Their Successful Partnership

The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) and the Chess Federation of Montenegro have continued their successful partnership of several years by signing a new sponsorship agreement worth €10,000. The agreement was signed at CEDIS premises by the company’s Executive Director, Vladimir Ivanović, and the President of the Chess Federation of Montenegro, Jovan Milović.

The funds provided under the agreement will be directed towards developing chess among young people, as well as organising the European Youth Championship, which will be held in Budva in October.

CEDIS Executive Director Vladimir Ivanović highlighted the importance of supporting sport, particularly young talents.

“With this agreement, we once again reaffirm our stable partnership with the umbrella institution of Montenegrin chess. CEDIS consistently supports community development through investment in education, sport and culture. We are proud to continue our cooperation with the Chess Federation of Montenegro, especially in a year when Montenegro has the honour of hosting the European Youth Championship. We believe that our support will help popularise chess among children and young people, as well as promote the talents who represent the future of Montenegrin sport,” said Ivanović.

The President of the Chess Federation of Montenegro, Jovan Milović, thanked CEDIS for its longstanding cooperation and support.

“One of the most significant events in 2025 will be the European Youth Championship in Budva, which will bring together hundreds of talented chess players from across Europe. CEDIS has been one of the Chess Federation of Montenegro’s most important partners for many years, and its support is of great importance to our activities, particularly when it comes to young chess players. This year, with CEDIS’s help, we will provide free accommodation for the 60 best participants in the Montenegro Youth Championship. In this way, we want to enable our most promising players to take part in the European Championship and compete against their peers from across Europe. This support further motivates us to continue investing in chess as a sport that develops intellect, perseverance and strategic thinking,” emphasised Milović.

Since its establishment, CEDIS has invested significant funds in supporting Montenegrin sport. The value of this year’s sponsorship agreements has already exceeded €130,000, demonstrating our commitment to the advancement of sport in Montenegro. CEDIS will continue to support successful sports clubs and individuals in the future.
