CEDIS Blood Donors’ Club Campaign in Podgorica: 20 Volunteers Respond

The sixth traditional blood donation campaign by employees of the Directorate of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System was held in Podgorica on 9 December. Around 20 volunteers came to the Blood Transfusion Institute, and 15 units of blood were collected.

“We will strive to justify our reputation as one of the most active clubs in Montenegro through our activities, and to further increase the number of donations. It is particularly important that an increasing number of young colleagues are responding to the campaigns and joining this humanitarian mission. Campaigns like these further enhance CEDIS’s reputation, as they show that it is a socially responsible company. It is wonderful to be part of a team that can help someone,” the Club said.

The value and importance of the campaign are also reflected in the satisfaction of the Blood Transfusion Institute’s employees, who say it is always better to have this precious fluid in reserve than to search for a suitable donor at a critical moment. Blood donation is an exceptional and noble act, especially when this precious fluid is given to complete strangers.

Noting that the success of blood donation depends on campaigns being held regularly, and that employees of Elektroprivreda and CEDIS are among the most active in the country, the Institute’s representative, Dražen Đurašković, thanked the organisers and called on other social stakeholders to lead by example, demonstrate the importance of ensuring sufficient blood supplies in a timely manner, and help raise public awareness of the need for and importance of this way of collecting this precious fluid.
