A successful society is inconceivable without adequate education for young people. However, the education system is the responsibility of all segments of society, particularly those with the means to provide material support for educational processes.
CEDIS continues to support education through a project involving a financial donation to the Njegoš Public Primary School in Spuž. The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System has already established itself publicly as a company with a strong commitment to social responsibility. Our community-care activities will be further strengthened in the future, with a particular focus on the education system, an integral part of our social responsibility strategy.
„Care for the community in which CEDIS operates is our fundamental business principle. It is an honour to support educational processes, particularly in institutions with a tradition such as that of Njegoš Public Primary School,” said Marija Jovović, Head of Corporate Communications at CEDIS, adding, “this is just the beginning, and I hope and believe that together we will carry out many more projects, all with the aim of strengthening the education system in Montenegro.”
The donation amounts to €4,900 in financial assistance to support this educational institution in upgrading its technical equipment and purchasing a sound system and video surveillance equipment.
“The 139th anniversary of this school is an event worthy of great respect, and everyone who is part of this team should feel proud. We owe CEDIS the excellent sound system now in place, as well as the peace of mind that comes from knowing the school’s property is protected by repaired video surveillance—an important aspect of the school’s work. CEDIS listened to the concerns of our Parents’ Council and all of us regarding safety on school premises,” said Smiljka Pavićević, Principal of Njegoš Public Primary School.
We would also like to recall that earlier this year CEDIS carried out the “From the Heart for High School Students” project, which involved a financial donation to Slobodan Škerović Gymnasium on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the first four-year general secondary school in Podgorica. In less than two years of independent operations, CEDIS has become recognised by the public as a socially responsible company, as confirmed by the award from the Employers’ Union of Montenegro. The “UPCG Award for CSR” was presented to CEDIS at the end of last year in recognition of its support for a significant number of projects in the fields of healthcare, education and culture.
