The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) and the “Budućnost – CEDIS” Chess Club have continued their successful cooperation by signing a sponsorship agreement worth 10,000 euros. This agreement secures the organisation of the fourth CEDIS Chess Festival, a prestigious event that brings together the best young chess players and all those who love this ancient game.
In addition to enabling the festival to take place, this support is of great importance to the club’s continued development. The funds will be directed towards improving chess schools and organising new tournaments.
“CEDIS is committed to corporate social responsibility and supporting the community, and we consider investment in sport—such as chess, which develops intellectual skills and strategic thinking—to be extremely important. The “Budućnost – CEDIS” Chess Club has a rich history and has produced many outstanding chess players, and we are pleased to be part of its success story. This cooperation is of great importance for the development of chess and young talent in Montenegro. We are delighted that, through this support, we can contribute to the cultural and intellectual development of our community together with the “Budućnost” Chess Club,” said CEDIS Executive Director Vladimir Ivanović.
“We are proud of the cooperation we have maintained with CEDIS for four years. The company’s support is a great boost for us, given that our club has more than 100 talented children whom we strive to give opportunities to progress. This sport truly provides young people with a foundation for developing both their intellect and creativity, whatever they choose to pursue in the future. Given the situation at the club, we hope to delight you with the best results and thereby justify the trust placed in us. At the end of this week, we are looking forward to
the CEDIS Chess Festival, which brings new challenges and opportunities for young chess players. Organising a competition with a significant prize fund further encourages young players to invest effort in their development and strive for new heights in chess. A tournament featuring the best players and grandmasters will also be held at the end of the year. Many thanks to CEDIS,” said Aleksandar Radunović, President of the “Budućnost – CEDIS” Chess Club.
As one of the leading drivers of Montenegro’s development, CEDIS has for years provided generous support, within its means, for the diverse needs of the communities in which it operates. Support for young athletes is an investment not only in sport, but in the community as a whole. The value of sponsorship agreements concluded during the previous year alone exceeded 80,000 euros.
