Organised by the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) and the Nova knjiga publishing house, a reading event was held today at the Institute for Children’s Diseases of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro for children receiving treatment at the institution, as well as for children from the “Đina Vrbica” Public Preschool Institution, “Pletarac 2” unit. A reading event was also held for the youngest patients at the Institute in May, as part of the 12th International Podgorica Book and Education Fair, and they were given books as gifts.
Stories and books are a lovely gift for children, something to remember and enjoy. That is why we gave them these wonderful moments today. Although the staff at the Institute treat the children with great care, attention and love, we believe that events like this are also needed to make their day brighter and more interesting, and to help the time pass more quickly and easily. We are especially pleased that today we managed to organise a reading and book-giving event not only for the children at the Institute, but also for children from the “Poletarac 2” unit.
Children love to laugh, but sometimes their smiles have to be earned. Today, as on the previous occasion, children’s entertainer Žarko Žabac succeeded in doing so by reading a chapter from The Little Prince and “The Fox” from the book The Little Prince in an engaging and original way.
As a socially responsible company, CEDIS recognises the importance of organising events like this, as the education of young generations, children and the youngest members of society are at the heart of our business. We want to contribute to community development through concrete activities and support humanitarian, health, cultural, scientific, sporting and environmental initiatives.
“We Read for Your Smile” marks the beginning of cooperation between CEDIS and the Institute for Children’s Diseases of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro. To mark the company’s first anniversary, a donation was planned to purchase a paediatric cardiac ultrasound machine for the Institute for Children’s Diseases.
